Klappentext des Verlages
The 15th century is generally regarded as an incubation period, as an era of important upheavals and innovations that occurred before 1500, but whose full impact was not felt until the following century. This century is not primarily ›just yet‹ (›autumn of the Middle Ages‹) or ›not yet‹ (pre-Reformation), but a vital time of its own right in many fields, which needs to be viewed and discussed from many perspectives.
The present volume illustrates in an interdisciplinary perspective the rich and diverse intellectual-cultural life of the century in its own right, detached from any phenomena of the history of religion, media, globalization and (scientific) knowledge that may have emerged from it later. This life offers starting points and research areas for many disciplines, which are gathered in this conference volume.
